Groups have plenty of activities, including travelling back in time. To do this they need to visit nearby Wadsworth to see the Gold Pyramid.

Jim and Linda Onan constructed the Gold Pyramid in 1977 to emulate the Egyptian pyramids. It is an impressive structure from a family with deep ties to the Gift of the Nile.

If that is not your thing, then visit the parks and beaches in the area.

Nearby Illinois Beach State Park has over 4,160 acres of scenery and wildlife right off the lake. It is an excellent spot for a group looking to fish, camp, hike, or boat.

The Waukegan River Beach is smaller but has great views of the lake. The beach is near the Waukegan Harbor Light where boats dock.

You can also enjoy 30 miles of hiking that winds through the Millennium Trail in nearby Lindenhurst and Mundelein.

Finally, a bevy of festivals and parades dominate the summer in downtown Waukegan. Between the monthly Scoop Unplugged and ArtWauk, it is common to see a bustling downtown area. The new nearby restaurants and updated Genesee Theater add to this excited atmosphere.
